The Benefits
Recovering from an injury or illness can be complex and challenging for both individuals and stakeholders. An independent third party can provide guidance and support as well as ensuring stakeholder relationships remain positive and information is shared appropriately. Statistics are clear that the longer people are absent from their workplace then the likelihood of ever returning is impacted significantly.
If a person is off work for....
20 days the chance of ever getting back to work is 70%
45 days the chance of ever getting back to work is 50%

Assisting clients to remain engaged with their workplaces and their recovery process is vitally important to ensure the best outcome. Injury and illness and the subsequent emotional, financial, social and mental health effects are all factors which impact on recovery. The best outcome for all clients is to achieve the best return to work possible, be that same or new employer.
A return to work ensures ongoing income, increases emotional resilience, maintains/develops social relationships and provides for a better overall recovery. Clients who are unable to return to their usual role and/or have sustained ongoing long lasting restrictions or symptoms are also assisted to adjust to their situation and it’s effect on their everyday life.
Transitioning clients to new employment is a service which requires sensitivity and awareness. An individual’s work role is often how they identify themselves and when that is taken away or changed in a significant way, their whole identity is impacted. Maintaining support and positive guidance is where our services can make a positive impact. For clients who are not able to return to work due to terminal illness, significant functional restrictions, geography or opportunity, then focusing on restoring function to the best level and community engagement is a priority.
SalusWA consultants seek to engage with all stakeholders and to create a collaborative approach to the recovery process
So what do we do?
SalusWA provide assessments, case management, return to work and redeployment services to injured individuals and workplaces.
Our health professionals assess an individual’s situation (taking into account medical, employment and other factors) and in collaboration with the injured/ill party and stakeholders, develop a plan of action to provide you with the strategies and services which will assist your recovery and return to work.
